Make youre own dentil molding?

Im not finding any dentil molding that is large enough for my current porch project.

Id like maybe 2" x 2" or larger "blocks". Lumber places ive been to dont have anything but very small dentil molding, probably for interior applications.

Does anyone just use individual wood pieces and essential build your own dentil molding? Maybe thats just what youre supposed to do... dunno.

i.e. 1x2x3 blocks face nailed to wherever, then have crown above and possibly other molding below?

thanks

Sure you can make your own, if you have time.

I don't see why you couldn't make your own from individual pieces. It's just a matter of layering it up the way you want it.

Will you be painting it or will it be natural with possibly a stain?
