Mail slot door question

Something got messed up with my mail slot door, it stays open now. Would someone guide me as to how to (re) place the spring?

The curl on the end of the spring on the right is suppost to be in the same position as the one on the left.
Just going to have to play with it with a pair of needle nosed plyers.

The loop on the left end of the spring needs to be anchored to something.

About 1" down from the top of your photo is a tiny metal loop. Shouldn't the hook on the right-hand end of the spring be hooked into this loop? That way it should pull the flap closed.

Mail slot door question

Can the spring slide all the way to the right on the rod? I suspect that the hook on the spring needs to hook over the edge of the slot frame on the right hand side of the opening.

The spring is supposed to exert a slight closing torque on the door so wind gusts don't pop it open.
