Question

leveling a ceiling

I am currently tiling a bathroom floor, walls, and ceiling. there is a border at the top of the wall that would look bad if I had to cut it to accommodate the uneven ceiling. the difference is 3/4" in a 7' span. I can adjust the tile to end at the lowest part of the ceiling but that would leave a unsightly gap that will be noticeable when the ceiling tile met it. I was thinking about a skim coat of compound or plaster but I don't want to put the wrong thing and ruin the tile work. what is a the best thing to do in this situation

leveling a ceiling

To do it right remove the sheetrock and shim the ceiling to level and drywall it again. This will give you an opportunity to use mold resistant drywall.

leveling a ceiling

That would definitely be the correct way to do it.
