laying laminite countertop (formica) across multiple pieces of plywood

I am looking at building a countertop for an office desk in the basement bedroom of my house. The room is 10 feet wide. I can get formica in a 10ft X 30 inch section to cover the countertop with, but the problem is that plywood and MDF is sold in 8 foot lengths. I want to make the desktop seamless. How could I go about joining multiple pieces of plywood together that I can lay the single sheet of formica across and make a seamless countertop?

Bisket joints is a fast easy way.

The top needs to have 1 1/2" edges all around for strength. Use this build-up as well as a piece under the seam for strength.

You can get particle board in 10' and 12' lengths. My lumber yard (Pro Build) stocks it, the box stores don't.

You can also buy plywood in longer lengths and widths.
