Laminate thickness in a basement
Evening folks;
I am putting laminate down in my basement. There is a very nice laminate that is 8mm, for an additional cost the same laminate is available in 10mm. It s a big room and I would prefer to use the more cost effective 8mm. Is there any pros or cons I should be aware of? Should I spend the extra money for the 10mm, does it matter? Thanks all. |

That is about 1/16", not a lot for sure, but what is the cost difference???
DO put down the moisture barrier underlayment. Most manufacturers make their own underlayment, so follow directions or warranties could be hard to get. |

Also go with the acoustical underlayment if possible. It is a higher quality and will help stop the clicking noise you hear on some floating floors
