That's what I'd do. Others may argue for bolts, but I believe screws and glue are fine.

Knee Wall Construction


I think I can get about 3' of a 2x8 on one side and on the other I may only be able to get 3/4" plywood on it. But about 4 feet...
Would that be good enough? Don't think I can fit a 2x8 in there since the water lines are running next to that side.
