Kitchen Microwave Cart
 

Wanted to build my mother in law a new microwave cart for her kitchen. Open storage in the middle and two doors below. Still not finished yet but just wanted to post a few pics of the cart. Made out of Poplar and bottom box section I used 3/4 birch Ply. For the stain I did 3 coats of a golden Oak. Then 3 coats of a clear gloss

Mom will be pleased----Nice design----

:thumbsup: That's at least couple years of credits with any mother. Just one thing. Microwaves get pushed around when closing/opening door.

btw. how expensive is that wood ? compared to oak and cheery ?

Thanks......your right, didn't even think about the microwave moving when it gets open or closed. I might add a border of trim around the outside of the top. Any ideas?

Poplar isn't the expensive.....everything was bought at Lowes, and was like $275.

Here's the finished results. Just put the doors and the pulls on. I put like 5 coats of poly on, so that thing is glistening :-)

I'd try larger rubber supports first and more than 4. It'd be shame to add to the top.
