Kitchen Island walkway
1 Attachment(s)
Don't know if this is the best place to post this but hoping you folks can help me out! We have a monster island going into the kitchen and I am concerned that it may impede the flow of traffic into the breakfast nook. I am attaching a picture. DOES IT LOOK like traffic flow will will be a comfortable distance away from all objects (walls, counters, etc). I sketched in banquette seating with a round table just to see how that might impact.

The sink will be on the island and all space is accounted for on it...front and back....DW, Wine cooler, microwave, etc. There is NO WAY to reduce the size of the island...only the shape, which I am not certain I want to do as it then starts to creep into the family room.
Rangetop is on counters to the east of the island. Walloven, microwave, fridge, warming drawer is on counters to the south of the island.
Walkway was originally drawn in at 50" from both counters. But it looks like it is really creeping into the traffic flow to get into the nook. And this flow is important because when we want to bbq outside, we will take this path.
We can possibly reduce this to a 45" walkway and still have comfortable access to all kitchen units and cabinets. But do we need to?
Please help?

36" walkway is standard in most kitchens I see.

I have 44" between island/sink counters, with the dishwasher door open that reduces to 19". The cooks will be setting the food on the island end for transfer, main walkway is other side of island because of the post near table. Pull the chair out as if one is sitting there, then walk by them with a sawhorse as the island or big box from Costco or appliance store to check.
