kitchen cupboards

We are thinking about buying some used kitchen cupboards that are natural oak and have a polyurethane finish on them. We would likr them a little darker to match the rest of the oak in our home. Is there a way to darken them without stripping them?

Minwax used to carry a Polyshades line. It is a stain tinted polyurethane that you can apply in layers to achieve a desired color intensity. Your cabinets would need to be prepped in order to used the product successfully. Check out the Minwax website or the local Borg for the product details.
There is also a learing curve to the application. Practice on scrap wood first.
