Kitchen cabinet HELP!

Quick question. I'm building a base cabinet for my kitchen. I'm going to do a slate tile countertop. My question is how much overhang (if any) should I cut my plywood substrate and concrete backer board?

Cut so that the finished surface is 1 1/4" is about right.

Depends on what you're going to finish the edge with.

I see the overhang typically coming out roughly 1/2" beyond the drawer/door fronts.

Ok thanks. I'm going to use a bull nose tile for the edge. The front is the only part that should overhang right

The sides next to a range or refrigerator should not overhang any more than the tile thickness, but if it is an open end, then the side overhang should match the front. (Some people like them 1/4" to 1/2" shorter because there are no drawers or doors on the sides.) Your choice, of course, but keep in mind the possibility of maybe having to match a pattern on top.

Cool thanks all
