Locate floor joists in a closet , or laundry room, and cut an access in the floor, as it will be certainly used again. Get down and dirty, and use standard fiberglass batts. Even if you have to lay on your back, with your belly rubbing the bottom of the floor joists, it can be done. There is nothing pleasant about it, though.

Take a look at the reply from GBR in WA to the post in the CONSTRUCTION forum titled FLOOR PLACEMENT. GBR cited http://www.buildingscience.com/docum...n-crawlspaces/ and I recommend you read it to help with your project.

Thank you for that, you all may use it. Isn't it something, and makes perfect sense! I found it while researching my crawlspace problem. I have a vented crawl with batts installed and v.b. over dirt already. I'm going to rip foil-faced rigid strips to install on joist bottoms with a house wrap after air sealing. The info is less than a year old.

Be safe, Gary

Most people don't even have a clue that cork is an excellent insulator and they make some very attractive cork products today.
