Installing a Wall Over Cinder Block Garage

Hello all.

I am interested in installing a more utilitarian wall solution in my garage, probably slat boards, over the existing cinder block.

What is the best way to secure the new wall to the cinder block?

Thanks for any advice!

Tap Con screws.
Predrill the holes in the slat board before attaching or it will try and push the board away from the wall when attaching.

In my experience cinder block walls can be very crumbly. Screws may easily strip out.

Drill a test hole and put a screw in. If it strips out, drill a hole one size smaller, and do not over torque when tightening the screws. You may also wish to use a construction adhesive like PL400, Liquid Nails or the like.
