Question

Installing pull-outs in kitchen cabinets

I purchased some Revashelf chrome pull-out baskets for my kitchen cabinets that claim a 5-minute installation with 4 screws. The instructions say all that's required is a phillips head screwdriver. I am unable to get the screws to budge, even with a battery operated screw driver. The "5 minutes" has turned into a lot of frustration and no progress. Like the name says, I have lots to learn, so any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

I would try drilling pilot holes where you want to put the screws. That should make inserting them much easier!

Thanks, but I don't even have a drill! I bought these baskets because all they needed is a screwdriver. Guess I'll be going back to Lowes...

Take a thin nail, thinner than the screws. Tap it in, say, half the length of the screw, and remove the nail. You will have a pilot hole.

You'll end up needing a drill for other projects anyway!

Make sure you read the instruction properly. Revashelf has pre drilled holes for the screws.

We're talking about in the wood of the cabinet not in the brackets!
