HPL on MDF

Can you apply HPL to one side of MDF and not the other? I thought that answer was no, Norm Abrams apparently only applied it to the top of his router table. It doesn't sound right to me.

I would apply it to both sides for my shop because the humidity is so high in the summer.

However many people will paint the bottom to seal out moisture and have good success.

My router table has laminate top and bottom and has stayed flat for over four years--


That's a first---I live near a river and the humidity has ruined every table top within a year or two--

Seal all six sides with something, paint, laminate, sealer, but don't leave bare.
