How soon can I install Masonite doors after sheetrock? - DIY Chatroom

My drywallers will finish my basement by the end of the week, and I'll have my Masonite doors on site at that time. I don't think I've ever had the situation where I had doors ready to be installed immediately after the drywall is finished, and I noticed in Masonite's installation instructions that they say not to hang the doors in a freshly drywalled area. This is the first time I've ever heard of this. Is there reason for concern? If so, how long should I wait? I live in a fairly dry area and I can leave windows open to dry the basement out pretty quickly.

go ahead and install 'em...I've done hundreds if not thousands of doors right after sheetrock was done...you'll be fine.

That's the normal procedure. Doors and trim after drywall....

Jay and I knew what was going on in this thread, but just to be clear for anyone else who comes along, Masonite's warning about not installing in a freshly drywalled area has nothing to do with the order of installation. It has to do with the high humidity that could be present as the mud dries, and how that humidity could potentially warp the doors. That's the concern, but I agree with Jay that it's not worth being concerned about in my situation.

Just to clarify... my above post was relative to the garbage spam post that has since been removed.

And as far as the humidity of drying sheetrock mud, no I don't install doors until sheet rock is done, which includes final sanding...which is after the mud is dry...
