How to install sliding glass door/french door

Hello. I need to learn how to install a new sliding glass door to replace the old one that has seen better days. The place where I bought the new one charges and arm and a leg to do the installing! Thanks much to any one that can help !

A picture or two of the old door would help.

An arm AND a leg--that is a lot for a slider--I usually just go for a leg--they are bigger.

Much depends on the original installation, weather siding must be trimmed and a few other items.

Try to post a picture if you can---Mike---

No matter where you purchase the door from, it will come with manufacturer recommeded installation instructions. You might reconsider the price of having a pro do it afterword, but it can be done.

Installing it is one thing. Fixing the interior/exterior trim is more time-consuming than the install. In my experience.
Short of cutting off a body part, the worst that can happen in woodworking is manufacturing really nice looking kindling. --- Quoted from lenaitch
