how to finish basement stairwell concrete wall
3 Attachment(s)
Trying to figure out best way to finish this concrete wall along basement stairs. It is poured conrete and I believe stringer is 1.5" so I need to install something that will not be too thick. Should I tapcon some PT 1x3" and apply 1/2" greenboard and put foam insulation in between these furring strips? Or any better suggestions? Will attach pictures later. Thanks..

I am not sure why you would want to use green board. Would a vapor barrior be a better solution attached to your furring strips? Do you have problems with moisture in your location? Could 3/8's inch drywall be used to give you a better reveil for your trim? Hope some of the others chime in here!!

If I was presented with this I'd probably do exactly what you suggested. Since it's below grade I'd stick with some kind of basement board for sure.
