How to fill in several holes in whitewood pine?

I need to fill in several holes in five pieces of Whitewood pine. The surface will be painted, so i dont care about color variation. Regular wood filler shrinks after drying, so is there any other option to fill in these holes? Or am i stuck using wood filler and sanding and wood filler again until its flat?

There is wood filler that shrinks less than others. You already have the right idea.. Why is the usual process a problem? Not real sure the purpose of your question.

I suppose you could use Bondo.

How to fill in several holes in whitewood pine?

Id like to get through this stage faster, so i can move on, get them painted and move on to floors. Sanding and filling in holes is tedious and boring, id like to get through it as quick as possible.

Then, paintable epoxy might be a better option.

Sorry, I guess it's latex. but it resists shrinking http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1

Not sure if the epoxy stuff is paintable...you'll have to read the minwax site or container. http://www.lowes.com/pd_45896-24-216...3098879&rpp=48
