how do i trim my stairs??

I have vinyl floors and there used to be carpet when had the vinly stairs installed there is a large gap between the dryway and the floor. I would like to trim it all in but have no idea of an easy way how please help me.

Agreed a picture would help. Usually you can work a piece of wood to help fill small gaps, or even a colored caulk but it all depends on what the situation is. Sounds like a large gap so some sort of wood work might do it.
