How to cross cut a mitre on a 1x6
I am recapping a knee wall on my stairs with 1x6 birch boards. I will need to cross-cut 19degree mitres where the vertical and horizontal boards meet the board on the stair rake-angle. What is the best way to do this? I am sure you master carpenters can do it by hand, but not me. Should I stand the board on end and do it in a power mitre saw or lay it flat on a table saw or sliding mitre saw. I will be staining it so I want the fit perfect.
The knee wall is on the left side of these stairs. The railing is also being replaced.
the sliding miter saw would work best but you can use circular saw and speed square as a guide just hold the speed tight to edge fur this from you then keep the shoe of the saw tight to the speed square making sure to keep the shoe in full contact with the board
