How to construct shaker style doors?

Need to start building cabinet doors soon. They will all need to be about 28" tall and betwen 12" - 18" wide. I have already built one, but it took about an hour and a half to make and without a table saw, its impossible to make it look right.
What is the best and easiest way to build a shaker style door of this size?

I do not want to use 1/4" plywood in grooves, or beadboard inserts. I want them to be solid wood, the frames i know i can make from 1x3's but im having a big problem with the inserts. Any suggestions?

I would like something similar to this.

Why not make the doors out the wood you want and then add trim or molding to the fronts to make them look shaker style?

First you tell us that you dont have the tools you need to do the job, and you dont want to use the insert material that most people use, then you ask for advice.

You need clear kiln dried pine, or preferably maple, a table saw and a biscuit joiner, or a router table with the right bits. You could use 1'4 inch luan for the insert but you said you dont want to? Luan is very water resistant.

You can do a lot with a decent router and table.

i dont want to use 1/4" plywood. Its too thin for my tastes. ive seen those in several homes, and all it takes is a simple foot pressed against it or a child to lean against it and it pops right out of the groove and you have to take the whole door apart to fix it. I want something sturdier. I guess i will have to do what i did with the last door and use a crapload of clamps. i dont have access to a table saw or a router and its not worth the money to buy one for ten little doors. Still have to figure out how to cut a piece of 1/2" plywood without shredding it

Luv me some router! You can do some fantastic finish work with one.

BTW, I would NOT consider trying to make these doors out of one solid piece of wood. Warping, even a tiny bit, will bring you to your knees, crying.

im not attempting to make them out of a solid piece of wood, i know all about warping and its given me fits with the cabinets. With the last door i made, i made the perimeter out of pine 1x3's pocket screwed together and the insert out of a piece of 1/2" plywood, it shredded one side so i put that side inside the cabinet but i dont want to have that on kitchen cabinets since the inside will be seen all the time

i made this door, but it took an hour and a half and still doesnt look right. However that spot at the bottom left, where it looks misaligned, is actually some printing on the wood. Itll look fine once its painted.

How to construct shaker style doors?

Everybody owns at least one router, and a table saw, even if its just a portable one, like me, as I prefer a Radial Arm Saw. I bet JoeC owns a Unisaw. These are things you NEED, not want. You are marrying a guy that does not have these things????

What kind of GUY is this?????

Now don't go and tell us he dosen't own a pickup, cause I have a weak heart.

First warning! If he doesn't have a pickup (white, preferably) and a rifle rack..... WATCH OUT.

to make cabinet doors like that you DONT need a router.. all you need is a table saw, mitre saw. a cordless drill and a pocket hole jig.. its their is no profile on the frame or the panel. simply rip your rail and stile stock then create the dado on the table saw by running the stock through on edge.. then use the pocket holes to assemble it

Yup, that's right, but you said table saw, miter saw, pocket jig, and cordless drill.

Now, with a router table............................................. ......
