How to clean up the edges after a jig saw???

Hello everyone,

I decided to make a couple corner speaker shelves to hang up on the wall. I had to cut the front of the shelf with a jig saw to make it rounded. Now after my cuts it still doesn't look right, so i figure i have to sand it straight to the line, i made my cuts on the outside of the line, figuring i had to sand it straight. What do you guys use to sand with? All i have is a Black & Decker finishing sander.

Thanks,
Sellncars

A belt sander works best. The finish sander will work but you will need to start with a fairly course grit and work your way back down to a finer grit.

Sellin - I have the Ryobi Belt/cicular sander for this purpose. Its like $99 in hardware stores and comes in handy all the time. It's great for molding and small little handy projects like buiding small shelves and such.

if you have a router table and variable speed router you can buy a mini drum sander bit, then you can work like a pro!
