Hidden Bookcase ideas

I recently did a little work for a young man [late 20's] who happens to be a very successful magician.

Once I got done with the first project, he's now wanting to higher me during the winter to build him a hidden bookcase that leads to his office in the basement. Also wants a kitchen cabinet concept to open a door "to" the basement as well.

So I'm seeking the other pro's in here for any resources [other than basic] for components to create a rather unique bookcase.

So if you're in my shoes and you want to impress a "magician" with a brand new bookcase, what apparatus/mechanics would you come up with to "wow" a magician?

I'd love to have one his books actually be the key. How that's done is what I'm looking for.

So far in my search I've come up with SOSS Hinges which I think will work just fine, but the mechanics part is what I'm interested in. Whether it be hydraulic/spring/electrical....matters not.

Thanks for any input guys.

My mother-in-law has a van equipped with a rear door that opens at the touch of a button. I would Google "minivan rear door openers" and see what you can find.
As this is 12v you would need a DC converter, but what would be cool would be to hide the switch in a book.
Also Google Hafele of America and look at their electronic lockerroom locks.
SOS are a good choice for hinges.
You can also get "Faux Books" for displays that will keep the weight down
