Help Replacing Window Pane

we got the frame out of the window and couldn't open the frame up. we busted out the broken glass. now, i need to figure out how to replace the pane.

it seems this will involve disassembling of the frame.

has anyone replaced a pane of glass in this type of window section frame?
here it is: http://img692.imageshack.us/i/img1294zh.jpg/

i'll post photo directly after some editing

Help Replacing Window Pane

Open the window half way. Pop out the bottom moulding that covers the mechanism (you may have to remove the allen screw that holds in the handle. At the bottom of the sash and at the two sides, are little flat metal slides that hold the metal rods on to the sash. Depress these and slide them off, be careful as the window sash will now be free to fall out!
Reverse these directions to get it back in. Btw, the frame is the part that goes round the whole window. You're talking about the sash.
Couldn't you have just replaced the glass?

THX!
the sash, or the pieces of wood holding the window in, seem to go down into the frame. so we removed it to take it to a window shop or glass cutting shop.

anyhow, we got the window out by removing the two side rails. the bars that push the window out have a hinge that allows them to pop off.

i had some neighbors look at this and the sash framework is complicated. i'll see what the glass cutting shop says.

Sounds like you're on the right track

Get it to the glass shop...money well spent since they do this all the time.

...and don't get the neighbors involved...have you seen their place lately?
