HELP! New WOOD FENCE is Splitting

I don't think it is wise to pull all those boards and replace least not yet..figure I will stain the fence and see how things look in a year or so. I guess I will chalk this one up to a "learning experience"

I would like to get some suggestions on the best stain to use on it? oil? water-based? Brand?

Thanks again everyone for your comments!

I'm not sure which brands you have where you are, but get something of decent quality. Acrylic latex stains are by far the best for that application.

Our entire place is done out in the deck and siding stain by Behr, it's
not expensive and we have had good luck with it thus far. I'm talking about 12 years or so experience with it here.

If you can find Cabot stain, I would highly recommend that. We couldn't find it when we started staining our place, otherwise I would have used that. A few more dollars, but I believe well worth the price.
