Help with my planter box design please

This is my first post on here and I would like to say thanks for any future help. With that being said here is my idea. I want to build a tall square planter box because I have been unable to find one that I like. I was planning on building the frame out of wood and then covering the wood with something to give it a smoother finish like a typical planter you might find. My first idea is concrete which I would later stain and seal. I plan to use an internal pot as well so the soil won"t be in direct contact with the inside of the planter. My question is whether or not I will have problems with the concrete adhering, I thought about using a mesh backer before skim coating the planter. Do you have any other ideas to get the type of finish I am looking for?

Can you build your box in the form of a mold and pour your box out of concrete? You can oil it up so the concrete does not stick.
You can get the concrete to stick but unless you put it on fairly thick I am afraid it will crack and fall off. Not sure just some thoughts. What size are you thinking of?

I was thinking that if I put it on thin I would still be able to move the planter around if needed, due to the size it would be extremely heavy if made of solid concrete. I was thinking about 36"x15"x15".

You might be able to move it around with a plant caddy, if it's on cement.

I guess I figured I could make the texure more uniform with a skim coating...but youre right I could use the caddy idea. Its going on my front patio so I dont envision moving it too often. I think the wood idea would be easier though. I am open to alternate covering ideas as well.
