I have had a water problem on a building because of improperly install deck. No flashing, ledger boards nailed onto vinyl siding, etc. Decks have been disconnected from house. Wall and door framing has been gutted. I found rotten flooring and floor joists. I ripped out floor joists in this area and cut floor back to solid wood. The floor is kind of wavey and 3-1/4" to 3-1/2" thick with the follow layers from bottom to top: 2-layers of 1" pine board, 1-layer of 3/4" hardwood flooring, and 2-layers of 1/4" lauan. I cannot afford to rip out everything at this time. Should I lay down 1-2 layers of 3/4" decking on new joists and install my framing for outside wall and door on top of this? If I ripout everything of old flooring in the future I did'nt want to have to worry about all those layers under new framing. I hope this gives enough information. PS this house was built in late 1800 to 1900.
