Question

glass shelf and medicine cabinet height

i need to install a vanity and a medicine cabinet but also want to have a glass shelf in between for things like little accessories.

the vanity is a simple box 25.25" high including the counter top and i know the standard height of the counter top should be 34", which means i will have some clearance below it.

the medicine cabinet is 26" high.

the faucet is a modern one so it is kind of tall, about 8" when the control lever is lifted.

so if i want to have a minimal clearance between the on-position lever and the shelf of maybe 1" and another 9" between the shelf and the medicine cabinet, that puts the bottom of the medicine cabinet to 52". is that too high and should i maybe consider dropping the vanity a bit lower, maybe down to 32" cause it is suspended, i.e. not touching the floor and that is possible?

thanks

glass shelf and medicine cabinet height

I don't know if this helps, but the height of our bathroom vanity tops are 30" and 32". I'm 6', so wouldn't mind them being a bit higher, but my wife is 5', and they work well for her, so I doubt that I would change the height if/when I ever replace them. On the top end, assuming an 8' ceiling, I think that the top of the cabinet being at 78" in a smaller room like a bathroom may "shrink" the room a bit. With those two things in mind, I would probably frop the vanity a bit.

My medicine cabinet is 18" off the sink top with a soap dish and cup holder in between. Plenty of room to open the cabinet door and plenty of room to access the hot and cold faucet handles.
