Gambrel Roof Angles

Hi, I`m new to the message board and don`t know if this topic has been covered before but:

I`m building a barn and want to build a gambrel roof over the center section and lean-to`s on either side.

The center section is 10ft. 3in. or 123in. wide.

Is there a formula for figuring the proper lengths and angles?

Thanks!

Gambrel Roof Angles

Thanks for the info!

I think I`ve decided to go with a gable roof instead. Might be a safer choice LOL

Gambrel Roof Angles

I helped with one of these years ago. It was a brain teaser for sure. Once all the angles were figured out we built a jig. There are 180 degrees in a right triangle. Which is what you have. From the center of the roof to the outside wall and from the top of the wall to the top of the roof. All the angles should end up equaling 180. Draw it first. Goooood luck.
