free standing granite island
 

I want to put a 48"x27" black granite on four 6"x6" lesgs that are 33 inches tall. I am going to put three quater ply under the granite. Will this work.... Thanks

You want to span 4' with just 3/4" plywood ??

Nothing below, other than 4 legs, plywood??? Cross bracing??? I am skeptical. Maybe box/joists bracing the top, between the posts.

Is that not thick enough. Using the 6x6 legs. trying to open the space. thanks

if i have to support the lower legs i will. just not sure if this is going to work. open to ideas

I was just wondering if there were going to be cabinets under this at all
3/4" plywood will not hold up granite without more support
2x4's boxing in between the legs at a bare min
Myself I'd want 2x6's I think...depending upon the thickness of the granite
And a brace across the middle too

nt o keep it ope and use stools like a breakfast counter. do you think three sides of bracing will work.

Drawer some plan with measurements and post it.

If you want support that will not stick out use steel tubular metal for support
