Finishing a pass through from the kitchen to diningroom.

I have a pass through window opening from my kitchen to my dining room. I am having granite installed on the bottom (shelf). I want to finish the rest nice with wood and molding stained to match the cabinets. Can you help me out with some direction? I have it torn out to the studs.

Not sure how much direction you need.

I would trim and finish the opening and then have the granite guys come and template it and install.
They usually won't template unless there is a finished product to fit to.

This also allows you to make your mess and play with tools and not worry about scratching your new top.

Who's next?

Thanks for responding. The granite guys are here now installing. My question is the opening including stud and drywall is 6 3/4", so to finish this will I need to cut something to that size for the 3 sides? Then cover with molding.

Yes, you will rip your 6 stock with your Brand New Table Saw.
