Do you want to shift the cabinets you have off the wall by 6" or do you want to make them 6" deeper?

You can build a 2x6 frame that matches the cabinet size. Install blocking at both the back and front of the frame, top and bottom(so 4 blocks). You can use the 2x6 stock or 2x8 or 2x10 if you have any scrap. Screw(framing screws, not sheetrock screws) and use adhesive to attach the blocking to the frame on all 3 sides. After the frame is dried, bolt it to the wall every 16 " The number of bolts depends on the size of the frame. After the frame is on the wall, screw the cabinets to the frame.
The type of bolts depends on the foundation type.
