This weekend I'm removing the plaster and lathe from an interior wall with the goal of exposing the brick wall. Is there an harm in taking a sledge hammer to the wall to tear it down? There's no electrical wiring behind the wall. It is a support wall, but I don't think there are studs in the wall. I'm just a sled hammer wielding guy looking to take down an ugly plaster wall to reveal the brick.
My next step will be to "clean" the brick. I don't want a glossy/shiney look; I'm guessing I'll need to seal the wall with something to prevent deteriaration and most importantly, so the wall doesn't crumble.
