Drywall repair

Hi All.

Basically, I have a hole in the wall (about the size of a quarter), which used to be where we ran some speaker cable. I have now managed to run the cable behind the wall directly to the speaker and need to patch up this hole.

Can someone give me the best insigt on how to do it? Polyfilla would not work specifically here because the hole is too big.

I was thinking I need to cut a piece of drywall about the same size and stuff it in there. But how?

Thanks

You can purchase " Wall Patches" that are self adhesive. Just get one or cut one about 1 inch bigger than the hole and stick it to the wall over the hole.
Apply two coats of compound sand between coats and prime. Pole or hand sand with 180 grit sand paper the whole wall to take the sheen off and paint away.
