drywall framing cost

I'm having a 10' high inner wall constructed in my new metal Barndo -- what should I expect for cost per lineal foot with 2x4x10 studs @ 2' centers?

multiply the length of the wall x .75 +1 then add 5 studs per number of studs required.. figure out the amount of track needed.

calculate the sq ft of the wall then divide by 32, this will give the number of sheets..

after that you just need to add bond, mud, screws and tape plus some sandpaper

Thank you, but I'm having a framer do the work (I will do the sheetrocking later) -- whats the going rate for framing, including the materials?

...how long is the wall?

There really is no going rate. Each job has its own challenges and each contractor needs to charge differently depending upon overhead.

Hello Dan and welcome to the best darn DIY'r site on the web.

10' high is one dimension, length is the missing dimension........although peeps on this site shy away from estimating as the numerous variables which can't be seen from the office computer. Get a couple of quotes, sounds like a job for a residential handyman. Just make sure the one you choose has all the right credentials, such as a business license, insurance and his own tools.

A 10' inner wall price is what was given by the contractor that looked at the job. If you are not good with that price then get another bid. If you want cost of materials then say where you are at, my price for material will not be the same in Alaska The best advise I can give is do not pay in full, keep money aside for extra's (you are talking about a remodel) Do not think all contactors will screw you and when you find a good one do not make him think you will screw him.
