Door at top of stairs


Can you have a bedroom door 8" up at the top of stair landing.

Landing at top of stairs should be 36" before the door. Post a drawing or picture.

Door at top of stairs


I don't fully understand what you are asking. What I visualize is you have a landing then one more step then the door opens at the edge of that step, is that correct? If so that would be awkward in your transition if not dangerous, especially going down the steps, you would open the door then have one step down immediately. For someone not use to that might fall, especially an older person.
