Thanks.

you don't. The design of entry door locks is so that you remove the lockset from the inside so a burglar cannot simply walk up to your house and remove your lockset.

Even the cheapest entry door lock available cannot be changed from the outside unless you are a magician.

I'm thinking that might be necessary. Can't think of any reason one would ask how to do this from the outside unless they are locked out of the building and are trying to gain entry.

I would suggest a side grinder with a cut off wheel and whack the knob off though. Just a bit less collateral damage.

One swing of a hammer (maybe two) took the lockset off on place I lived & was locked out
It was cheaper to replace the lockset then a window

I have a quicker quieter way of getting in through the entry door illegally versus the grinder (nice)but this forum is on the internet and we probably should not discuss any method.

I did not think it was possible, but I needed to find out for sure. I am going to be doing property preservation and replacing the door locks is part of the job. I have been told there will not be a lock box on the door.

No, these are foreclosed homes. Banks are in different states.
