Door closes by itself
 

Hello. I have a main entrance heavy duty door. I swing it open to reach the wall. If I leave the door alone, it will slowly close by itself.
I know I can put a box or a chair in front of it, but that is not the point.
The point is if I can do anything to the hinges so it remains open the way
it is supposed to. if I buy new hinges, it will solve the problem?
What can I do to the hinges? Thanks

You need to remove the casement and plumb the jamb. I'd shim it to true, then replace casement.
You can probably even leave the door on the hinges as you do this.
There may be more to it than that as you go, but that's basically it.

bend one of the hinge pins

It's a lot easier to bend the barrel than the pin.
I would bend Top & Bottom

Lay the pin on a hard surface and hit it in the middle with a hammer, it will bend. Don't hit it hard though you don't want it to fly across the room.
