Does it exist: A P2 driver bit that leaves the panhead 1/16 or 1/8 exposed?
Such a bit, similar to drywall bits that stop driving when the screw is just below surface level, would be very useful when hanging items with keyhole slots that want the screw's panhead exposed a prescribed amount. Does such a thing exist?

HMMM never seen such a thing

Sure is, any big store should have one.

Thanks for the suggestion, but something tells me that wouldn't allow for "negative depth" setting that would leave a screw head partially exposed. Those seem to be used for controlling how far -below- surface level a bit can go, not above.

Not true.
Just using an impact driver I have enough control to set the screws any depth I want.

Use a drywall plug or any fasting system for drywall that requires a screw. Use a screwdriver to set the screw to the desired depth.

I am sure a tool like that exists, probably real hard to find. I would just epoxy a spacer to the face of one of those drywall bits. I am assuming you have a project that requires many screws be set?

Thanks Joe, I'll check into it! I -did- have a project that required a lot of hanging screws to be set but it's done now. I'm making a habit of asking myself, after I finish a project, what could I have had on hand to make this task easier? I've added quite a few goodies to my tool bag with that habit.

you dont need a special bit for that. just use a cordless drill and adjust the torque on it so it stops driving the scew when it starts requing extra torque to set the screw
