Desperate! Drawer clearance for undermount slides

HELP! My remodeler is taking shorcuts I am not happy with. Because there is only 1/4" clearance side to side on my kitchen drawers, he has chosen to use side mount drawer glides as undermount sliders and it is NOT going well. I am NOT a happy camper with his decision. Can this be a satisfactory solution?

What is your best solution to this dilemma? Are there any undermount slides that will fit with less than a 3/8" side to side clearance?

I need answers ASAP as he is coming back in the morning expecting to finish up this shoddy workmanship job.

Desperate! Drawer clearance for undermount slides

A slide designed for a side mount can not be used as an under mount.
The dynamics are way different.
However, there are some full extension slides that look like a side mount but are designed as an under mount like used in a trash can pullout
Take a few photo's and post it, see if there is a brand mark and I should be able to identify the slide.
