Question

Demountable Hinge

I am trying to find hinges to replace the ones currently on my kitchen cabinets but am having problems locating the right ones. They are 3/8" inset, single demountable but the clamping plate is on the frame stile side of the hinge. any ideas?

The one in the first picture looks pretty common. Any cabinet supply shop I would think.

They're actually called offset hinges and are pretty common. Yes lee valley has them or amazon, any hardware store should also. Take one with you to the store to match it up

Most of the ones I have seen do not mount to the face frame the way that one does.

A couple minutes of searching got me that, search for "3/8 offset hinge" and browse through for what you desire

Not sure if it matters but his seeems to have someting that goes into the slot on the face frame. and then the one screw on the edge of the face frame goes into that tab and clamps it? I think.

You're right I didn't notice that. Did you remove the hinge from the door yet? If it has the same slot or not?

Demountable Hinge

That is a double demountable hinge. That single screw on the door is threaded into the washer that tightens the hinge to the door. The door has got a slot cut into it as well.
