I am trying to find hinges to replace the ones currently on my kitchen cabinets but am having problems locating the right ones. They are 3/8" inset, single demountable but the clamping plate is on the frame stile side of the hinge. any ideas?
They're actually called offset hinges and are pretty common. Yes lee valley has them or amazon, any hardware store should also. Take one with you to the store to match it up
Not sure if it matters but his seeems to have someting that goes into the slot on the face frame. and then the one screw on the edge of the face frame goes into that tab and clamps it? I think.

That is a double demountable hinge. That single screw on the door is threaded into the washer that tightens the hinge to the door. The door has got a slot cut into it as well.
