deck question

I will be using Trex decking and I have been told that sealing it will help with the mold issue and make it easer to clean. I am aware that most people use trex so they dont have to seal but we are using it for the lack of splinters and the look of no wood grain. what would be a good sealer to use. I had seen a post on one of these forums about doing it but cant find the post?

I personally have never heard of a sealer for composite decking. Composite decking is made of wood waste and plastic, and as you know, plastic is not asborbent and generally resistant to any type of sealing. I think as long as you don't scrape the finished surface of the deck boards, you're less likely to get mold, but mold is easily cleaned using a deck cleaner and power washer.
