Roughed deck last year. 1st Need to make a choice between Trex and Veranda. Both wife and I love the colors offered with Veranda. please give me pro or cons. 2nd looking to build a mission style railing all the way around but cant find any thing but your typical big box displays. Please help with finding a site, book or some ideas.

Trex seems to be one of the most problematic of the composites. Search the forum at sister Contractor Talk site, there has been quite a bit of discussion on this. I only have very limited experience with Veranda, hopefully some full time deck builders will chime in, but I have not had negatives with it.

Have you worked with or looked at TimberTech's products?

www.timbertech.com

They have a wide range of products and railing styles and you can usually find a level to fit your price range if there is a supplier in your area.
The quality level seems much better than Trex for the $ amount paid in our personal experience... they railing selection also has options available.

Personally I only recomend Correct Deck CX brand composite http://correctdeck.com It is a very very good product that will last longer than trex or veranda. TT is also good but would be 3rd on my list.
