Crown Moulding on Kitchen Cabinets - DIY Chatroom

I just got new kitchen cabinets with crown moulding. The problem is when the cabinet is installed I can't get behind the moulding. I do not want nail in the face frame of the cabinet. Can I just liquid nail and be done? Thanks for any help.

There should be some sort of wood band inside at the top of the cabinet where you can screw through. If not you might have to take off the crown.

Pie; am not sure what you are asking. Are we talking about INSTALLING the crown? If so nailing into the face frame is normal. The only other way I know of is a major PIA. you have to decide how much drop you want the crown to be, than install blocks on the back of the crown, drill up thru the tops of the cabinet frames, screw into the blocks. MAJOR MAJOR PIA

ohhhhh....for the crown not the cabinet. I'm an idiot. But yeah...just nail through it. Even if they are prefinished you can just get some filler that matches and touch up the holes.

If you don't already have one, now is a great time to invest in a little finish nailer. It will be good for the crown but really great for all the scribes and toe kick.
