I run a heavy bead of Polyseamseal Adhesive behind all my corners and down the trough between the back of the crown and the cabinet. Where it butts into the walls too.

The best glue I've found for crown is a CA type glue. "2P-10" by Fast Cap is a great one. I use the Jel.

I had another thought though what if get some hot glue into the back side of the joint and hold it? It will set in 30 sec

does anyone ever use hot glue like that?

I"ll experiment on a scrap piece joint and see if it looks like it will hold.

I have used hot glue on the joints. But it wasn't the craft type gun, it was one of these:

I have glued 3 or 4 pieces at a time, then lifted it place and fastened it. You have to be careful handling the assembly once its glued.

These are the clamps I use. Made in Germany. Pretty good setup.
