Crown Molding 135 degree interior angle

Hello,

I am down to my last corner of a room for crown molding and it's my toughest corner. It's a 135 degree interior angle. The spring angle is 45 degrees.

I have a miter saw that can make bevel cuts. I have looked around the internet and it seems that I should be setting my saw at:

16.32 for the miter
15.7 for the bevel

but when I do that, the pieces don't seem to fit properly. Is there something I am missing? The calculators also saw it should be "From level 74.3" but I have no idea what that means. All my other corners were 90 degree interior cuts and I had no problem doing them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a 'cope cut' instead of direct bevels? It might be easier to fit on such a shallow inside corner.

its 22-1/2 degrees
135-90=45
45 divided by 2 = 22.5 degrees

Miller is correct if you are cutting your crown 'nested'. But if you are cutting 'lying flat', you will need to use the numbers you found on your chart online.

I would still suggest trying to cope the mate if your equal angles aren't working out.

Uh, this IS a DIY forum, and some people either may not know how to 'nest' crown, or their saw may not handle their specific crown size in a nested position.

I understand its a DIY forum, Willie, but if they're talking about buying/renting a chop saw to cut a compound flat, then it's easier to cut it nested in my opinion. Each to their own, thats why I enjoy reading all the varying opinions and methods posted here.

miller is right half of 45 is 22,5 also coping can solve this
