creating an end wall for bathtub.. help?

i have a question regarding putting up some sort of end wall, plexiglass
or building something to keep water from hitting the wall. i have a tub
that years ago someone put in an L-shaped rod, looks like old piping.. and the foot of the tub has an opening and there is a little shelf like cabinet
there between the tub and wall, so curtain doesn't reach that far, you would have to have two inside curtains and i just want to take down the existing rod and cap off the end of shower and put up a straight rod from
wall to wall. help? ideas??
