Crack/Split right under door knob?

Long story short, I locked myself out of a key locked room and ended up crowbarring my way in. Since the key is gone, I decided to replace the knob with a basic bathroom lock. However, by doing so, I split the wood under the door knob. Is there a way to fix this without taking the wood off its hinges? I've got paint of the right color, sandpaper, wood glue, and probably a clamp somewhere, but I'd like to avoid taking more things apart. I've attached pictures of what I'm dealing with.

The problem with gluing that up in place is controlling the mess. You’re far better off removing the hinge pins and laying the door flat, injecting some Titebond 2 glue, clamp and let it sit overnight. If the split was on the top side it would be a different story.

Thanks for the pic. Looks like a job for Gorilla Glue
and a deep throated C Clamp. This one would work.

• Force the crack open as wide as possible to accept the maximum amount of glue
• Use thin pieces of wood under the clamp to protect door surface
• Let dry for 24 hours

Use some wax paper against the door after you glue it so your blocks don't glue themselves fast to the face of the door.

Good grief, C clamp, Gorilla glue, tite bond . Don't bother looking for your clamp. Elmer's school glue with a chair leaning against it for 30 minutes will fix that .

if its a hollow core just replace the door.. when stuff like that happens the repair hardly holds up long term
