Ceiling Joist Lay Out

I have 10 ft 1/2 in sheetrock and am about to begin laying out for the ceiling joists. I had planned to use 16 in centers but that would mean I would have to cut every piece of sheetrock. the room is 13 x 30. Is there a better way?

Ceiling Joist Lay Out

arent you strapping the ceiling before teh board goes up? here we have to strap all ceilings to provide lateral support the floor/ roof system.. we will add an extra row of strapping where we know the drywall will land so the drywaller doesnt have to cut the sheet
