From Carpet to laminent?

Please excuse the ignorance... we just moved into a new house which I love. The only thing I don't love is all the carpeting that the dog and kids are quickly ruining. The house we moved from was all tile and I wasn't happy with that as much either.

I know, picky... anyways I was wanting to put wood flooring down and everyone keeps suggesting laminent. How difficult would it be to do ourselves? Any suggestions? I don't want to get in over my head if its really something that we shouldn't even try to do ourselves. thanks for the advice!

From Carpet to laminent?

If your refering to Click Laminate flooring
it is a piece of cake to put in. Just follow
the instructions and you will have a great floor but if your are refering
to glued Laminate flooring then leave it to the pro's since there is a little more to it.
Here are two floors I have done and thay were my first at this.

I hate to cross-post but I can't do much better than refer you to this page. http://www.home-improvement4u.com/fl.../laminate-wood

I'm not quite done with it, but I will be before you start your project, I'm sure.

From Carpet to laminent?

A little warning. The click together wood flooring is very easy to put down, very attractive, BUT WILL NOT HANDLE STANDING LIQUID! Should the kids spill something on a seam that they don't clean up very soon it will buckle. Trust me.
